Moses Bako hails Confluence Queens after Super Six qualification
Lokoja-based women’s football supporter and stakeholder, Moses Bako Nagogo, has praised Confluence Queens for securing a spot in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six.
Confluence Queens sealed their qualification with a 2-0 victory against Abia Angels on the road.
As the chairman of Confluence Queens’ supporters club, Bako commended the club’s management, led by Sabo Okala, the technical team, and the players for their achievement in reaching the Super Six stage.
He emphasized that this qualification was a significant milestone for the team, especially considering their initial challenges.
“We began the season with doubts about our coach’s capabilities and with relatively unknown players,” Bako shared with kick442.
“We are grateful to God and hope that Confluence Queens will lead Group A after the season’s final match and eventually clinch the league championship by winning the Super Six.
“I also take this opportunity to urge the state government to consider renovating our stadium pitch so that we can play our home matches at home rather than away,” he added.
For the second consecutive season, Confluence Queens has earned a spot in the NWFL Super Six, maintaining their consistent performance. Last season, they achieved the same feat under coach Ogbonda Whyte, who now leads Rivers Angels, another team that has also qualified for the Super Six.
Nasarawa Amazons and Heartland Queens have also secured their spots, with the remaining two slots to be decided next week.
