Ikorodu City has achieved a remarkable milestone by earning promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) just two years after its establishment.

In 2022, Ikorodu City grappled with relegation battles that threatened to demote them to a lower division. Escaping on the final day of the league.
