Haruna Leads Blue Ocean Academy to Denmark for Dana Cup.
Blue Ocean Academy (BOA) has arrived in Denmark for the 2024 Dana Cup as reported by TheNation. The Nigerian team, based in Abuja and Ado Ekiti, landed in Copenhagen on Saturday before heading to Aalborg, the venue of the tournament.
Led by former Nigeria U-17 assistant coach Bunmi Haruna, BOA aims to provide their players with international exposure and opportunities for top European scouts to observe Nigerian talent firsthand.
“This is a huge opportunity for our players to showcase Nigeria and the talents that we have in the country,” said Haruna. “Players were scouted from all over Nigeria—Kano, Lagos, Enugu, Abuja, Bauchi, Ekiti, all across the country.
“The young boys are trained to meet European standards, and I can assure you the scouts who choose to see our games will not be disappointed,” he concluded.
BOA’s participation in the Dana Cup underscores their commitment to developing young Nigerian footballers and providing them with pathways to professional opportunities in Europe.
