Goals from Havertz and Saka enough to earn maximum 3 point for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in opening game of the season

Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a solid 2-0 victory over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners took the lead in the first half when Kai Havertz headed in from a well-placed Bukayo Saka cross. Saka then doubled Arsenal’s advantage after the break, capitalising on a quickly taken free-kick to unleash a powerful left-footed shot into the right corner of the net.
Despite not being at their best, Arsenal were in control throughout the match and deserved their win against a Wolves side that struggled to create clear-cut chances. Wolves debutant Jorgen Strand Larsen saw his header in the first half saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, while substitute Matheus Cunha failed to trouble Raya with a tame effort as Wolves searched for an equaliser.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil may have been disappointed with his team’s lack of attacking threat, but the result was a fair reflection of the contest, with Arsenal looking the stronger side overall.
