BREAKING: APC Candidate Monday Okpebholo Wins Edo Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has emerged as the winner of the Edo State governorship election.

The results were announced by the Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Kuta, at the collation center in Benin City on Sunday.

Okpebholo garnered 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 247,274 votes. Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata finished third with 22,763 votes.

Prof. Kuta, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, declared, “Okpebholo, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”

Edo State, traditionally divided into Edo North, Edo South, and Edo Central, saw the APC hold onto its stronghold in Edo North, while PDP maintained dominance in parts of Edo Central and South.
