The France international, who joined Real Madrid in the summer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, scored in the match before being substituted in the 80th minute as a precaution.
Speaking after the game, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti reassured fans, stating, “He’s fine – a little overloaded. He asked me for the change to avoid problems.” However, following medical tests on Wednesday, the club confirmed that the 25-year-old has suffered an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. Real Madrid added that “his progress will be monitored” as they assess the extent of the injury.
Mbappé, who has made a flying start to his career at the Bernabéu with six goals in seven games, is now in doubt for several upcoming fixtures.
