Niger Tornadoes Aim To Extend Unbeaten Run Against Struggling Heartland.

Niger Tornadoes are set to continue their impressive form as they face winless Heartland FC in an NPFL Match Day 5 clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday. The Ikon Allah Boys, who remain unbeaten this season, will look to maintain their strong away performances while putting their recent home struggles behind them.

Tornadoes have recorded two away victories and two home draws, while Heartland, known as the Naze Millionaires, have yet to win a game this season. Heartland’s form at home has been lacklustre, with one draw and one defeat in their last two home fixtures. They now face a tough challenge against the in-form Tornadoes.

Former Heartland player and current Tornadoes attacker, Jonas Emmanuel, expressed confidence ahead of the match, highlighting the high competition within the squad as a key factor driving their success.

Jonas Emmanuel’s Pre-Match Comments:

“The team is in a good position; both the technical crew and players have been working very hard. I just want to contribute my part and help the team achieve its goals. We’ve secured two away wins already, and we’re here in Owerri hoping to put in the same effort and get a positive result.”

Emmanuel emphasised the unity and hard work within the squad, noting, “Even from the way we train, you can see the team is cohesive. Everyone is performing at a high level, so if you’re given the chance to play, you have to seize the opportunity.”

Team News:

Niger Tornadoes will be without goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo, who is suspended following a red card in their previous match. His place in the squad will be taken by Iwu Emmanuel, another former Heartland player, who will compete with Yusuf Mohammed for the starting role.

In positive news, Sabiu Ibrahim has recovered from illness and is available for selection, strengthening the team’s options ahead of the clash.

Technical Adviser Majin Mohammed urged his players to remain focused and aim for a positive result, stating that the disappointment of their last home performance in Minna should not affect their determination.

With confidence high in the camp, Niger Tornadoes will be hoping to capitalise on Heartland’s struggles and continue their unbeaten run in the NPFL.
