Tunisia, who entered the match as favourites after winning their first two qualifiers, struggled to break down the well-organised Comoros defence, despite dominating possession and attempts on goal.
With over 70% possession and numerous shots, Tunisia were frustrated by Comoros’ resilience. The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute when Rafiki Said scored the only goal of the game, sealing an unexpected victory for Comoros.
This result marks Tunisia’s first home defeat in an AFCON qualifier in over a decade, while Comoros celebrated their first win of the current qualifying campaign.
