The 24-year-old Manchester City star showcased his remarkable skills once again during City’s UEFA Champions League match against Sparta Prague on Wednesday, where he scored twice, including an impressive scorpion-kick goal, to seal City’s 3-0 victory.
Wenger, speaking on beIN SPORTS, praised Haaland’s “physical monster” attributes, highlighting the striker’s instinct, timing, and scoring finesse. “He has the instinct, timing, [and is] scoring outstanding goals,” Wenger said, noting that Haaland’s qualities could allow him to keep scoring at this high level for more than a decade .
The former Arsenal manager added that Haaland, despite his success, is still “a beginner in football,” suggesting he has “13, 14 years to play,” which could make him one of the most prolific scorers in football history. City fans and officials are eager to ensure his long-term future at the Etihad, with rumours of an extended contract, possibly until 2029. Sources suggest that Haaland’s representatives may seek a release clause that would provide flexibility in his future, a condition City were reportedly prepared for when he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 .
