Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, Chidimma Adetshina, has announced her departure from beauty pageants after finishing second in the Miss Universe competition.
In an interview with Silverbird Television, Adetshina revealed that pageantry left her traumatized. “Honestly, I am done with pageantry. It was really a traumatic experience for me,” she confessed.
Despite being the highest-ranked African contestant in Miss Universe history, Adetshina expressed relief at leaving the industry. “People don’t really get to understand how I felt; I was really down and I didn’t want to do Miss Universe.”
Adetshina now plans to focus on self-discovery, education, and exploring new opportunities. “I’m really done with pageantry… I want to focus on myself and who I am… Hopefully, there’s something in store for me.”
