Arsenal Outclass Manchester United To Secure Victory.

Arsenal capitalised on set-piece dominance to claim a convincing 2-0 victory over Manchester United, handing Ruben Amorim his first defeat in English football.

Goals from defenders Jurrien Timber and William Saliba, both originating from corners, ensured Arsenal kept pace in the Premier League title race. The win trims Liverpool’s lead at the top to seven points, with the Gunners sitting third on 28 points, level with Chelsea.

The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Declan Rice delivered a corner that Timber expertly headed in at the near post. Arsenal nearly doubled their advantage when United’s Manuel Ugarte was forced to clear off the line after a flick-on from another Rice delivery.

The second goal arrived in unusual fashion. A Bukayo Saka corner was headed by Thomas Partey into William Saliba’s back, redirecting the ball past United goalkeeper André Onana to seal the victory.

Arsenal’s proficiency from set-pieces continues to shine under Mikel Arteta, with the Gunners having scored 22 goals from corners since the start of last season—more than any other Premier League team.

United had their moments, with Diogo Dalot narrowly missing the target in the first half and Matthijs de Ligt forcing an excellent save from David Raya after the break. However, Arsenal controlled the latter stages, with substitute Mikel Merino heading wide and Kai Havertz testing Onana.

Ruben Amorim, who had cautioned about an impending “storm” for his United side, saw his unbeaten three-game streak come to an end. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s commanding performance reinforces their credentials as serious contenders in this season’s title race.
