Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has publicly thanked his senior colleague, Funke Akindele, for her significant contribution to his career.
Awobona credited his role in Funke’s hit TV series, Jenifa Diaries, for paving the way for his success.
He recalled how his appearance on the show earned him recognition even in South Africa, where he was surprised to find that people knew him from the series. Awobona also appreciated Funke for involving the original cast of Jenifa Diaries in her new project, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
He described Funke as a wonderful and phenomenal woman who has been blessed by God and has done a lot for people. Funke Akindele responded to Awobona’s heartfelt speech with a warm appreciation, calling him “my darling”.
