American rapper Wiz Khalifa has sparked a heated debate on relationships after revealing his unconventional marriage advice.
According to the 37-year-old rapper, couples should date for at least 10 years before tying the knot.
Wiz Khalifa shared his thoughts on relationships during a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast. “People should date for 10 years before getting married because that’s long enough to know the person, their family, and who you’re going to deal with when you move in together,” he explained.
The rapper’s advice may come as a surprise to many, especially considering his own marriage to model Amber Rose lasted only three years. The couple got married in 2013 and welcomed a son together, but Amber filed for divorce in 2014, citing irreconcilable differences.
Despite his own experiences, Wiz Khalifa believes that dating for a decade can help couples build a stronger foundation for their relationship. “If you don’t move in right away, you’ll learn that there’s one version of the person when you’re not sharing things and a different version when you are,” he added.
Wiz Khalifa is currently in a five-year relationship with his girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar, with whom he has a daughter. While his advice may not be for everyone, it’s clear that the rapper has given a lot of thought to what makes a successful relationship.
