Arsenal’s path to the UEFA Women’s Champions League final has been anything but straightforward, but their biggest test now awaits as they prepare to face reigning champions Barcelona.

Caldentey’s influence was clear in the semi-final against Lyon, where her leadership and intelligent play helped steer Arsenal through. She was instrumental in France, scoring the crucial goal that put Arsenal ahead in the tie — her eighth goal in just 11 Champions League appearances for the club.
Former England international Karen Carney praised Caldentey, calling her “the best player in the WSL” at present. However, Arsenal are well aware that overcoming Barcelona’s world-class side will require a collective effort, not just one standout performance.
