Arteta Vows To ‘Give His Life’ For Arsenal To Ensure Trophy Comes By As Gunners End Home Season With Win.

Mikel Arteta delivered a passionate plea to Arsenal fans, admitting he is “unsatisfied and upset” at the club’s failure to secure a major trophy this season, but vowing to “give his life” to bring silverware back to the Emirates.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle United in their final home match of the Premier League campaign, Arteta addressed supporters with a powerful speech, thanking them for their unwavering support while acknowledging the pain of another trophyless season. The result secured Arsenal’s place in next season’s Champions League, but it marks five years since their last major honour – the FA Cup in 2020.

Despite a spirited campaign, Arsenal were outclassed by Liverpool in the Premier League title race, exited the Champions League and Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage, and suffered a shock third-round defeat in the FA Cup. With 71 points and one game remaining, Arsenal are poised to finish second in the league for a third consecutive season if they avoid defeat against relegated Southampton next Sunday.

“Liverpool have a trophy – we don’t have a trophy,” Arteta said in his post-match press conference. “We are unsatisfied and upset. But I think we are on the right trajectory. What I can promise is that I will do my very best [to win a trophy] and I will give my life, and get every drop of everybody here to squeeze it and get the best out of them.”

Stepping onto the Emirates pitch after the final whistle, Arteta addressed the remaining fans, some of whom had already left the stadium. “We had a dream, it was to be here or in a week’s time and bring the big trophies to you guys, and we couldn’t do it for many circumstances,” he said. “We need to make sure that chasing a dream doesn’t get blurry and make sure we chase the dream with positivity and enthusiasm for next season.”

Arteta, who has delivered one FA Cup since taking charge in December 2019, remains confident in the backing of Arsenal’s supporters. “That’s what I feel, but they want more, they have expectations,” he added. “We need to believe we are going to do it together.”

The Spaniard praised the talent within his squad, highlighting the contribution of Declan Rice, whose “Beckham-like” performance inspired the win over Newcastle. “We have to start creating our own history here in this stadium, and we started this season,” Arteta said. “There is much more to come, and it won’t be easy. These players have the talent.”

As Arsenal prepare for their final match at Southampton, Arteta urged his team to rest, recharge, and return with renewed hunger. “We need to finish at Southampton and then go on holiday,” he said, already looking ahead to a new chapter in Arsenal’s quest for glory.

With the Emirates faithful behind him and a squad brimming with potential, Arteta’s resolve to end Arsenal’s trophy drought burns brighter than ever. The dream, as he put it, remains very much alive.
