NNL Super 8 Set To Thrill In Asaba From 5–12 July 2025.

Football fans across Nigeria are in for a treat as the Nigeria National League (NNL) has confirmed that the highly anticipated NNL Super 8 tournament will take place in Asaba, Delta State, from 5 to 12 July 2025. The week-long event, to be held at the iconic Stephen Keshi Stadium, will see eight top teams battle for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/2026 season.

The qualified teams, emerging from a fiercely competitive 2024/2025 regular season, are Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifa FC, Wikki Tourists, Yobe Desert Stars, Doma FC, and Barau FC. These sides will vie not only for the NNL championship title but also for one of the four coveted promotion spots to Nigeria’s elite football division.

The tournament has received a significant boost from Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who has approved Asaba as the host city. The NNL Board expressed heartfelt gratitude for the governor’s support, highlighting Delta State’s growing reputation as a powerhouse for sports development in Nigeria. “We are delighted that the sports-loving Governor of Delta State, Hon. Oborevwori, has given his approval for the hosting of the NNL Super 8 in Asaba,” the NNL said in a statement. “This gesture reinforces Delta State’s status as a leading sporting state.”

NNL Chairman Mr. George Aluo promised fans a thrilling spectacle, assuring them of a professionally organised event. “There will be no dull moment throughout the Super 8,” Aluo declared. “All eight teams have demonstrated quality and resilience to reach this stage, and any of them could secure promotion.” He added that the NNL, in partnership with the Delta State Government, is committed to ensuring seamless logistics for a successful tournament.

The Super 8 will not only crown the NNL champion but also determine which four teams will ascend to the NPFL, offering a platform for Nigeria’s emerging football talents to shine. The Stephen Keshi Stadium, named after the legendary Nigerian footballer, is expected to be a fitting stage for the high-stakes encounters.

The NNL has extended an invitation to fans, stakeholders, and media to converge in Asaba for a week of electrifying football action. With raw talent and fierce competition on display, the tournament promises to be a celebration of Nigerian football’s bright future.
