ADC State Chairmen Unite Behind Interim Leadership In Abuja.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has demonstrated a robust display of solidarity as all 37 state chairmen, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) representative, rallied behind the party’s interim leadership during a strategic meeting in Abuja on Wednesday. The gathering, led by former Senate President David Mark and members of the National Working Committee (NWC), sought to strengthen the party’s cohesion and advance its reorganisation and coalition-building efforts.
The closed-door session was convened amid swirling rumours of internal discord within the ADC. However, the meeting effectively quashed speculations of division, reinforcing the party’s commitment to unity and progress. ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi addressed journalists afterwards, emphasising the leadership’s dedication to inclusivity. “We invited all the state chairmen to reassure them that we have no intention to shove them aside. The purpose was to dispel all the falsehood and rumours making the rounds that we came to hijack the party from them,” he stated.
The unanimous support from the state chairmen signals a renewed sense of purpose for the ADC as it navigates Nigeria’s complex political landscape. The leadership’s focus on coalition-building and internal restructuring is seen as a strategic move to position the party for greater influence in future elections.
