The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), has unveiled its second coffee table book, commemorating 20 years of celebrating exceptional filmmaking across the continent.
The launch event, held at the Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, drew notable dignitaries and film industry professionals.
Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, CEO of AMAA, kicked off the ceremony with a heartfelt speech, describing the book as an iconic collection of moments from the past two decades. “This book showcases African brilliance in film, as well as the contributions of Diasporans and other creatives who share a passion for African cinema,” he said.
The event paid tribute to AMAA’s founder, the late Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, with Andy Boyo, a renowned filmmaker, delivering an address and officially launching the book. Mahmood Alli-Balogun provided the keynote speech.
This second coffee table book follows the first, published at AMAA’s 10th edition, which chronicled the organization’s initial decade. The new book offers a visual masterpiece, highlighting the growth and excellence of African filmmaking over the past 20 years.
