The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, is set to delist 91,843 companies for failing to file their annual returns with it. In a list published on its website, the commission listed 91,843 companies for delisting (2,738 less than the 94,581 it initially published in August). This is still less than the initial 100,000 companies that CAC said it would remove in an earlier announcement. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, on Monday said candidates for its Direct Entry examination would from 2024 undertake cognitive and verbal reasoning tests. The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, reiterated this during a virtual meeting with Commissioners of Education of the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory. The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a new foreign policy targeted at taking advantage of its relationship with other countries. The Pension Fund Administrators have recorded N7.98tn profit from investing contributions made by workers into their Retirement Savings Accounts under the Contributory Pension Scheme, according to a new report. The report, from the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria,  revealed that the total funds under the CPS stood at 17.37tn as of the end of second quarter of 2023. Contributions made by the workers from both private and public sectors stood at N9.37tn in the period under review. PDP has called on the INEC to conduct fresh elections in the 27 state constituencies in Rivers State where lawmakers recently defected to APC. In a press statement issued on Monday by Hon. Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala have been named Africa’s best Men and Women’s Player respectively for the year 2023. The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has suspended applications for new loans under its development finance intervention funds. Also, banks are now responsible for recovering those already granted. The apex bank announced this decision in a circular to the Chief Executive of banks, signed by Acting Director, Development Finance Department, Sa’ad Hamidu. Among other things, the CBN said it had commenced pullback from direct development financing interventions. CBN added that the banks are now responsible for the recovery of loans granted so far under the development finance intervention funds. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday in Maiduguri, Borno State, launched a fleet of 107 gas and electric-powered buses as well as taxis in the second phase of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s metro transport scheme. The scheme aims to cushion effects of fuel subsidy withdrawal.
