The Federal Government, has proposed to spend N6.6B on the purchase of new trains under the budgetary allocation of the Nigerian Railway Corporation in the 2024 fiscal year. A total sum of N40.3B was allocated for construction of railways in the country. The figure which is part of FG’s executive proposal in the 2024 Appropriation Bill also earmarked over N80.714 billion for the parent Ministry of Transportation. Granada’s La Liga match at home against Athletic Bilbao was abandoned after a supporter died in the stands at Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium.
