Two sweepers of the Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA), have been killed by a hit-and-run vehicle in Gbagada axis of Lagos state, on Monday. In a statement by LAWMA, security agencies have been contacted to apprehend and prosecute the fleeing driver of the car. LAWMA, however, identified the vehicle that crushed the sweepers with registration number EPE 984 DV. The Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, has adjusted the foreign exchange rate for its tariffs and duties. The new rates were reflected on the single window trade portal of the federal government. According to information on the portal, the NCS exchange rate has gone up by 1.59 per cent or N12.37 to N783.174/$, as of yesterday, from the preceding rate of N770.88/$. Among other tariffs, the NCS  customs duties in Nigeria, levied on imports. Rates vary for different items, typically from 5 percent to 35 percent, and are assessed with reference to the prevailing harmonised commodity and coding system (HS code).…

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Usman Ododo as the winner of the Kogi state governorship election. The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Johnson Urama of the University of Nigeria, Nnsuka, announced the results at the INEC state collation centre in Lokoja, the state capital, on Sunday night. The Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit, convened on Saturday, November 11, in Riyad, Saudi Arabia, has condemned Israel’s military offensive in Gaza as war crimes and barbaric killings of Palestinians.
