The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Nigeria said it needs “an additional US$ 3.3 million” till the end of the year to adequately respond to the diphtheria outbreak. It said with over 453 death tolls from diphtheria outbreak in Nigeria, UNICEF Nigeria has issued an urgent need for mass immunisation. The outbreak has so far resulted in over 11,500 suspected cases, more than 7,000 confirmed cases, and claimed the lives of 453 people with children mostly affected. Jorge Vilda – the former head coach of Spain’s World Cup-winning side – is being investigated as part of the criminal case against Luis Rubiales. Vilda was sacked this month amid the fallout from the behaviour of Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Rubiales at the World Cup final on 20 August. The Ebonyi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja has struck out the petition filed by Prof. Benard Odoh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance against Governor Francis Nwifuru’s election. A New York judge has found Donald Trump and his adult sons liable for fraud and cancelled the Trump Organization’s business certification, saying the Trumps provided false financial statements for roughly a decade.
