The Corps Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector, Mr Babatunde Farinloye, says the command has deployed 1,416 personnel and 72 operational vehicles to ensure the safety of motorists during the 2023 Easter break. Farinloye said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. He said that the 1,416 personnel include regular and special Marshals, while the 72 vehicles were in place to ease movement during the patrol within Lagos. The University of Ibadan on Saturday said it had opened a special window to all post-UTME candidates who are qualified but could not gain admission for the face-to-face mode of study in the institution. The university noted that some qualified candidates could not be admitted into the university due to a limited admission quota. Not less than 30 persons have been reported dead after gunmen attacked an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Guma LGA of Benue state. Sewuese Anene, the Benue police spokesperson, said the incident happened on Friday night. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the extension of the application deadline for the recruitment exercise on its website by one week. The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, announced the deadline extension in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. The Lagos Police Command has uncovered a den of kidnappers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, Thursday night. The kidnappers opened fire on operatives of the Command who stormed the den.During the cross- fire, one of the kidnappers was gunned down. A former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Prof Onje Gye-wado has been kidnapped by daredevil gunmen. Onje Gye-wado, a one-time deputy Governor of the State who served during Abdullahi Adamu administration, was abducted in the early hours of Friday when the assailants invaded Gwagi village in Wamba Local Government Area of the state. Air travellers across the country will have to seek alternative means of transportation, following the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, denying petroleum marketers access to various airports over incremental tariffs. The access restriction started today (Thursday) at the Abuja airport and plans are underway to extend it to other airports managed by FAAN.
