Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has claimed that he never opposed the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the presidential campaign. The federal government said yesterday that  over N869 billion was needed to conduct the 2023 population and housing census. The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, who disclosed this at a high-level partner engagement in Abuja yesterday, said the federal government had provided 46 per cent of the budget. Agba said there remained an outstanding of N327.2 billion needed to carry out the census effectively. The Lagos State Police Command has vowed to prosecute people spreading fake news and “provocative content” on social media with the intent to cause panic in the state. The spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated this on Monday. President Muhammadu Buhari has called on developed and developing nations to grant duty-free and quota-free market access for products originating from the world’s 46 least-developed countries.
