CAC Flags 15 Fake Companies, Alerts Citizens To Refrain From Any Dealings With Them

Commission raises alarm as fraudulent firms parade fake registration details.

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), has raised an alarm over the discovery of 15 fake companies operating across Nigeria, cautioning the public to avoid any form of dealings with the entities, which parade falsified registration details despite not appearing in the Commission’s official database.

According to the CAC, the alert followed a surge in public complaints linking the suspicious companies to dubious business transactions and potential fraud. The Commission said the development prompted a thorough verification process, which revealed that the entities in question were never registered and had been using fabricated RC (Registered Company), and BN (Business Name), numbers to mislead unsuspecting Nigerians.

In a statement posted on its official X handle, the CAC urged members of the public to exercise maximum caution when interacting with individuals or organizations bearing any of the listed names. It stressed that none of the companies exist on its database, despite their claims of legal status.

The fake entities published by the Commission include:

  • Famas Services Nigeria Limited – RC 216312

  • Promo Dutch Investment Limited – RC 396654

  • Dialack Concept Nig. Ltd – RC 297772

  • Purpleheart Construction and Real Estate Mgt. Co. Ltd – RC 1210548

  • M/S Loktu Enterprises – BN 373466

  • Loktu Enterprises – BN 400390

  • Badatoyak Ltd – RC 521322

  • Johnson Nats Limited – RC 198492

  • Peoples Club Nigeria International – CAC/IT/41191

  • Jiba Enterprise – BN 577523

  • Civil Engineering Solutions Nigeria Limited – RC 33001

  • Gabdoff Hotel Ltd – RC 112409

  • Amoka Group – BN 545221

  • BEEC Nigeria Limited – RC 30143

  • S. Adetunji – BN 657466

The Commission noted that the publication aligns with its statutory mandate to maintain an accurate and reliable companies register, while protecting investors, legitimate businesses and the general public from fraudulent activities.

“The attention of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has been drawn to the circulation and use of certain purported company names and registration numbers which are NOT registered in our records,” the Commission said.

“The public is hereby warned to disregard these entities and exercise the highest level of caution when dealing with individuals or organisations using the names with the corresponding purported RC numbers below. The public is hereby advised to always verify the status of any company or business name directly from the CAC portal,” the statement added.

The CAC further advised individuals, corporate bodies and financial institutions to verify company names and registration numbers via its official online portal before entering into any form of business agreement. It emphasized that engaging with unregistered entities exposes consumers to significant financial and legal risks.

Reiterating its commitment to safeguarding the business environment, the Commission stressed that proper verification remains the most effective protection against fraud, particularly as fraudulent schemes become increasingly sophisticated in the digital era.
