Cole Palmer Wins Premier League Young Player of the Season
Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season after an outstanding debut season with the Blues. The 22-year-old secured this prestigious award following his deadline day move from Manchester City.
Palmer has scored 22 league goals and provided 10 assists, accumulating 32 Premier League goal involvements in just 33 appearances this season. He sits second in the rankings for both goals and assists with one game remaining.
Remarkably, Palmer is only the third player in Premier League history to reach 30 or more goal involvements in a single season while aged 21 or younger. He has also matched the Chelsea record of 16 home Premier League goals in a single campaign, a feat previously achieved by club legends Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
The England international triumphed over strong competition from Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, and Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie to claim the award.
