Dana Air Terminates Employees Amid Regulatory Audit

In response to an ongoing regulatory audit, Dana Air, one of Nigeria’s leading carriers, has terminated certain employees, signaling potential turbulence ahead for the airline.

The Head of Corporate Communications for the airline, Kingsley Ezen, delivered the news in a statement released on Saturday.

The audit, currently underway, is a collaborative effort between Dana Air and regulatory bodies aimed at ensuring strict compliance with aviation standards and regulations. In light of this scrutiny, Dana Air has opted to temporarily disengage certain staff members until the conclusion of the audit, a decision met with mixed reactions from employees and stakeholders alike.

“While the operational audit progresses, Dana Air has regrettably made the difficult decision to suspend certain personnel,” stated Ezenwa. “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all staff for their unwavering commitment during this challenging period and assure them that we are diligently working towards a swift resolution.”

Despite the upheaval caused by the audit, Dana Air reaffirms its commitment to cooperating fully with authorities to expedite the process and restore confidence in its operations. The airline pledges to provide regular updates and support to affected employees throughout the audit proceedings.

Dana Air has initiated dialogues with lessors and engaged stakeholders to navigate through these turbulent times. Urging for calm and understanding from its dedicated staff and stakeholders, Dana Air remains steadfast in its mission to uphold safety and excellence in air travel.

This latest development comes on the heels of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s suspension of Dana Air’s Air Operators Certificate in April, following an incident involving one of its planes. The aircraft, en route from Abuja, veered off the runway upon landing at Lagos airport, prompting an immediate investigation by emergency responders and regulatory agencies.
