EPL: Brentford On A Scoring Spree At The Gtech Stadium Emerges 5:3 Winners Against Wolves

Brentford Punish Wolves’ Defensive Errors in Thrilling Victory.

Brentford secured their first Premier League win since August, overcoming Wolves 5-3 in a dramatic match at the Gtech Community Stadium. The victory leaves Wolves still searching for their first top-flight win of the season, as Gary O’Neil’s side remain at the bottom of the table.

The match got off to a frantic start, with six of the eight goals coming in the first half. Brentford took the lead just 75 seconds into the game when Nathan Collins headed in Mikkel Damsgaard’s cross. However, Wolves quickly responded, with Matheus Cunha slotting home Nelson Semedo’s cutback just two minutes later.

Brentford regained their advantage after Mario Lemina fouled Collins, and Bryan Mbeumo confidently converted the resulting penalty, sending Sam Johnstone the wrong way for his sixth goal of the campaign. But Wolves once again levelled the score, this time through Jorgen Strand Larsen, who finished Rayan Ait-Nouri’s low cross into the far corner.

However, the visitors’ joy was short-lived, as Christian Norgaard restored Brentford’s lead just 90 seconds later, firing into the far corner after receiving Vitaly Janelt’s pass. Brentford extended their lead before half-time when Ethan Pinnock, left unmarked from a Damsgaard corner, headed home to make it 4-2.

Brentford continued to dominate after the break, with Johnstone pulling off key saves to deny Pinnock and Kevin Schade. However, substitute Fabio Carvalho added a fifth for the Bees after Johnstone parried Keane Lewis-Potter’s shot into his path.

Ait-Nouri scored a late consolation for Wolves, but it was too little, too late. The defeat leaves Wolves rooted to the bottom of the table with just one point from seven matches, while Brentford’s win lifts them into the top half of the standings.

For Wolves, the defensive frailties will be a major concern as they continue their search for their first Premier League win of the season.
