A total of 135 officials, comprising directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, and other personnel within the Federal Civil Service, have undergone redeployment to various ministries, departments, and agencies.
The details of this extensive redeployment were disclosed in an official memo dated November 30, 2023, issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
The memo, identified as “HCSD/CMO/EM/CPA/908/III/154,” was directed to key figures including Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission; Chairman of the Independent and Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, as well as all permanent secretaries.
Signed by Marcus Ogunbiyi, the Permanent Secretary of the Career Management Office of the OHCSF, the memo outlined the directive of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for the deployment of the specified officers in the Federal Civil Service.
It stressed the importance of adherence to the deployment process, emphasizing that rejection of officers by the respective ministries would not be tolerated.
The memo further indicated that all handover and taking-over procedures must be concluded by Thursday, 7th December 2023.
Directors of Human Resources Management and Administration were specifically tasked with ensuring compliance and were instructed to submit details of such compliance to the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, no later than Monday, 11th December 2023.
It was stressed that failure to comply with this posting instruction would be in violation of Public Service Rule 100301b and 020602 [iv], and appropriate sanctions would be applied.
This move signals a significant organizational reshuffling within the Federal Civil Service, reflecting efforts to optimize personnel distribution and enhance overall efficiency.
