The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially announced the start of Batch B recruitment for the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP). The initiative aims to empower millions of young Nigerians with financial support, entrepreneurship training, and business development opportunities.

The programme is designed to tackle youth unemployment, poverty, and economic instability by helping young people start and grow sustainable businesses across the country.

In this critique, you will learn everything you need to know about the YEIDEP Batch B recruitment, including eligibility, application process, benefits, and why the programme is important for Nigeria’s economic future.

What is YEIDEP?

Youth Economic Intervention and De‑Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP), is a youth empowerment initiative launched by the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide economic opportunities for young people through entrepreneurship support.

The programme focuses on:
  • Reducing youth unemployment

  • Encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation

  • Supporting small businesses and startups

  • Preventing youth radicalisation through economic inclusion

By equipping young Nigerians with funding and business skills, YEIDEP aims to create a generation of self-reliant entrepreneurs capable of contributing to national development.

Federal Government Begins YEIDEP Batch B Recruitment

The Federal Government has confirmed that YEIDEP Batch B recruitment will begin nationwide on March 9, 2026.

The recruitment is open to Nigerian youths who are interested in building businesses or expanding existing ventures. The second batch follows the successful registration of thousands of applicants during Batch A.

However, authorities have issued a strong warning against multiple registrations, stating that anyone who registers more than once may be disqualified from the programme.

Who is Eligible for YEIDEP Batch B?

To participate in the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Must be a Nigerian citizen

  • Must be between 18 and 50 years old

  • Must have a valid identification document

  • Must be willing to start or grow a business

  • Must complete the official registration process

The programme is open to youths from all states in Nigeria, offering equal opportunities regardless of location or educational background.

How to Apply for YEIDEP Batch B

The registration process for YEIDEP Batch B has been slightly modified compared to the first phase.

Applicants are required to follow these steps:
1. Visit a Partner Bank

Interested applicants must visit any participating commercial bank to open a YEIDEP account.

2. Complete the Registration

During the account opening process, applicants will provide their personal details and business interests.

3. Submit Supporting Documents
Applicants may be required to submit:
  • National ID or voter’s card

  • Bank verification number (BVN)

  • Contact information

4. Wait for Screening and Approval

After registration, the government will review applications and shortlist successful beneficiaries.

Partner Banks for YEIDEP Registration

Several Nigerian commercial banks have partnered with the programme to facilitate the registration process.

These include:
  • Fidelity Bank

  • Keystone Bank

  • Wema Bank

  • Union Bank

  • Guaranty Trust Bank

  • Zenith Bank

  • Access Bank

  • United Bank for Africa (UBA)

  • Ecobank

  • Lotus Bank

These banks will assist in opening YEIDEP accounts and managing financial transactions for beneficiaries.

Financial Benefits for YEIDEP Beneficiaries

One of the biggest attractions of the programme is the financial support provided to successful applicants.

Participants may receive business funding ranging from: ₦50,000 to ₦500,000

The amount granted depends on the type of business and level of support required.

In addition to funding, beneficiaries will also receive:
  • Entrepreneurship training

  • Business mentorship

  • Startup development support

  • Access to networks and market opportunities

This combination of financial and technical support is intended to help young Nigerians build sustainable businesses.

Why YEIDEP is Important for Nigeria

Youth unemployment remains one of Nigeria’s biggest socio-economic challenges. Every year, millions of young people enter the labour market with limited job opportunities.

Programs like YEIDEP are important because they:
  • Encourage job creation instead of job seeking

  • Support small and medium enterprises (SMEs)

  • Reduce poverty and economic inequality

  • Help prevent crime and radicalization among vulnerable youths

By investing in entrepreneurship, the government hopes to strengthen Nigeria’s economic future while improving living standards for young citizens.

Final Thoughts

The launch of YEIDEP Batch B recruitment represents another major step toward empowering Nigerian youths and promoting inclusive economic growth.

With access to business funding, mentorship, and training, thousands of young Nigerians will have the opportunity to start or expand their entrepreneurial journeys.

Interested applicants are encouraged to complete the registration process early and ensure they follow the official guidelines to avoid disqualification.
