To tackle the ongoing issue of farmers-herders conflicts, the Federal Government has announced the commencement of the Pulaku Initiative, a comprehensive resettlement program.

The initiative, launched on Tuesday and led by Vice President, Kashim Shettima , intends to address the root causes of these conflicts while enhancing the standard of living for all Nigerians as promised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Chaired by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, the committee comprises representatives from the Governors of states benefiting from the initiative.

The Pulaku Initiative is poised to make a significant impact by providing sustainable solutions to the longstanding challenges faced by farmers and herders across the country. By fostering cooperation and understanding between these two vital sectors of Nigeria’s economy, the initiative aims to create a more harmonious and inclusive society.

Kashim Shettima emphasized the importance of addressing the underlying issues fueling conflicts between farmers and herders, stating, “The Pulaku Initiative is a testament to our commitment to fostering peace and unity in Nigeria. By addressing the root causes of these conflicts, we can pave the way for a more prosperous and cohesive nation.”
