Femi Branch Slams Cinemas For Favouritism, Offers Solution

Nollywood actor Femi Branch has condemned Nigerian cinemas for favouring certain movies over others.

He noticed this trend while attending a meet-and-greet event for Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi’s film Alakada Bad and Boujee.

Branch lamented that cinemas allocate more screen time to select movies, causing division within the industry. He recalled fans fighting over which movie to watch, with cinema staff promoting one film over another.

The actor urged cinemas to be fair and allocate screen time equally among all movies. He also suggested that cinemas should allow fans to choose which movie they want to watch, rather than influencing their decision.

Branch’s solution to the problem is for filmmakers to focus on building a loyal fan base, which will ensure their movies attract audiences regardless of cinema favouritism.
