The Senate has given its nod to the appointments made by President Bola Tinubu for the key positions within the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).
The approval encompasses the appointment of Professor Tunji Olaopa as the Chairman of the FCSC, along with a slate of 11 other distinguished individuals who will steer the course of the nation’s civil service, effective from November 30, 2023.
President Tinubu, in an announcement made in October, designated Professor Tunji Olaopa to lead the FCSC, emphasizing the importance of a capable leadership team to guide the country’s civil service.
The Senate has now ratified these appointments, confirming Professor Tunji Olaopa as Chairman. Additionally, the Senate has given its approval for Dr. Dauda Jalo, Edet Eyoma, Chamberlain Nwele, Rufus Godwins, and Dr. Adamu Hussein to serve as members of the Commission.
The remaining members of the Federal Civil Service Commission, whose appointments have been affirmed by the Senate, include Aminu Nabegu, Hindatu Abdullahi, Shehu Aliyu, Odekunle Rukiyat, Princess Sarah Adebisi, and Dr. Festus Oyebade.
This endorsement by the Senate solidifies the leadership structure of the FCSC, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring a proficient and effective civil service apparatus.
