Governor Adeleke Praises President Tinubu For Upholding Rule Of Law.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to the rule of law, which has facilitated the ongoing local government elections in the state.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday, Governor Adeleke expressed his appreciation after casting his vote, describing President Tinubu as a true democrat with strong democratic credentials. He also highlighted the collaborative relationship between his administration and the federal government.
Denial of Alleged Remarks Against President Tinubu
Governor Adeleke also dismissed a news report alleging that he made negative remarks about President Tinubu, stating that such claims were entirely false. He reaffirmed his respect for the President, referencing his previous statements on the matter.
“In my first state broadcast on this crisis, I said this about the President: ‘Let me affirm that I know Mr President to be a true democrat, a lover of the rule of law, and a believer in the sanctity of the judicial process. I know, as a matter of fact, that Mr President will never authorise a dictatorial violation of the constitution irrespective of who is involved.’”
The governor further reiterated in a second broadcast: “We have confidence in the democratic credentials of President Tinubu, who we know will always insist on the rule of law.”
Governor Adeleke urged the public and stakeholders to disregard the misleading reports, emphasising that he has not, at any point, criticised the President.
