In a Resolute Declaration against the Challenges Faced by Married Nigerian Women seeking Passport Data Changes, The Minister of interior, emerges as a vocal advocate for change.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, criticizes the arduous process faced by married Nigerian women, particularly the need to travel to Abuja for passport data changes. He deems it a “stupid practice” and questions the necessity for such inconvenience, proposing a more streamlined approach.

Addressing members of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ABAT Media Centre and social media influencers  in Abuja, Tunji-Ojo highlights the absurdity of women having to journey from distant locations for a simple name change. He questions the disparity between immigration personnel in Abuja and those in various state passport offices, expressing his commitment to implementing reforms.

The Minister assures that, starting March, online reforms will enable contactless biometric enrollment, eliminating the need for physical presence in Abuja. Emphasizing the #RenewedHope initiative, he highlighted the importance of secure borders and assures Nigerians that passport concerns will be efficiently addressed.

As part of this forward thinking agenda, Tunji-Ojo announces plans for a forum to unveil the ministry’s 2024 agenda, emphasizing knowledge transfer and training for passport officers. He urges Nigerians to trust in the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, reaffirming his dedication to serving the nation.

Encouraging Nigerians to maintain unwavering faith in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Tunji-Ojo reaffirms his commitment to giving his all for the betterment of Nigeria and its citizens. In a nod to the minister’s substantial achievements, Babatunde Alao, the Special Adviser on Media and publicity, extols Dr.Tunji-Ojo for not only concretizing the Renewed Hope Agenda but also effectively representing the interests of Nigerian Youths in government.
