IPOB Warns Anambra Governor Soludo Against Playing Politics With Security, Urges Action Against Fulani Herdsmen Menace

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a cautionary statement directed at Governor Charles Soludo, urging him to cease playing politics with security matters in Anambra State.

In their statement released on Wednesday, IPOB accused Governor Soludo of being driven by a desire for a second term and succumbing to pressure from what they term the ‘Fulani hegemony’.

Expressing concern over the alleged nefarious activities of Fulani terrorists operating under the guise of herdsmen, particularly in Dunukofia, Awka North, Awka South, Orumba North, and Orumba South Local Government Areas of Anambra State, IPOB called upon residents to take a stand against insecurity.

The statement from IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, emphasized the urgency of the situation, warning of potential dire consequences if action is not taken promptly. IPOB urged the people of Anambra to unite and prevent Arthur Eze, a prominent figure in the region, from transforming the state into a scenario akin to the violence witnessed in Southern Kaduna.

Furthermore, IPOB directed a stern message to Governor Soludo and his administration, cautioning against compromising the safety of Anambra residents and Biafra people for political gains. They stressed that the security situation should not be exploited for electoral purposes and called for decisive measures to address the menace posed by Fulani herdsmen.

Highlighting the role of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), IPOB reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Biafrans and Biafra Land from external threats. They condemned any attempts to undermine ESN’s efforts, referencing an alleged attack by the Joint Task Force of Nigeria Security against ESN during a clash with Fulani herdsmen on April 20th, 2024.

IPOB emphasized their readiness to retaliate against any form of aggression aimed at their members or territory, signaling a firm stance against perceived threats to their community.
