Officers from the Isokoko Division of the Lagos State Police Command raided a residence in Agege suspected to be involved in the production of counterfeit alcoholic beverages.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the command, revealed details of the operation in a video shared on his official social media handle on Thursday.
Hundeyin stated that the raid resulted in the arrest of four individuals believed to be the masterminds behind the illicit distillery.
The law enforcement officials recovered a significant quantity of fake alcoholic drinks, along with empty bottles, and labels bearing the insignia of various renowned brands.
In his accompanying caption, Hundeyin emphasised the proactive response of the Isokoko Division to credible intelligence, which led to the successful operation against the illegal production of alcoholic beverages in the area.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing investigation as authorities seek to unravel the extent of their operations and their potential ramifications on public health and safety.
