Kano Pillars Appoint Former Players as Interim Coaches Following Maikaba’s Suspension

Kano Pillars, the former champions of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), have made significant changes in their coaching staff by appointing two former players, Jangora Ahmed and Ahmed Yaro Yaro Garba, as interim coaches.

This decision comes in the wake of the suspension of head coach Abdullahi Maikaba by the club’s management earlier this week.

Maikaba, a respected and soft-spoken tactician, had voiced concerns about the club’s professionalism, leading to his suspension with immediate effect.

In response, Kano Pillars swiftly acted to address the situation by appointing experienced figures from within their ranks to guide the team through its remaining games in the league.

The newly appointed interim coaches, Jangora Ahmed and Ahmed Yaro Yaro Garba, bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the club’s ethos, having previously donned the iconic blue and white colors of Kano Pillars during their playing careers.

Kano Pillars currently sit on 44 points from 32 games, and with the league set to restart, the club is keen on improving its standing and finishing the season on a high note under the guidance of the interim coaching duo.

This move by Kano Pillars’ could eventually be a turning point either towards upward trend or the opposite, however to maintain stability and excellence, and most importantly to navigate through the challenges of the current league campaign, the board made a decision they felt was in the best interest of the club.

The club’s supporters and stakeholders are optimistic that the change will bring a positive impact to the team, rallying behind Kano Pillars as they embark on this new chapter to close the NPFL 2023/2024 season in good height.
