Liverpool’s 26-Match Unbeaten Streak Ends At Fulham But Premier League Title Remains In Sight

Liverpool’s 26-Match Unbeaten Streak Ends At Fulham But Premier League Title Remains In Sight.

Liverpool’s remarkable 26-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League came to an end with a 3-1 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage, but Arne Slot’s side remain overwhelming favourites to lift the title.

The loss was just the Reds’ second of the campaign, and despite the setback, they hold an 11-point lead over second-placed Arsenal. With seven matches remaining, Liverpool require a maximum of just 11 points to clinch a record-equalling 20th top-flight crown.

Manager Arne Slot admitted his side were far from their best defensively, particularly in the first half.

“If you look at the goals we conceded, I think all three, we could have prevented them,” he told BBC Match of the Day. “That is not what we usually see and that is probably why we are where we are. If you make these mistakes more often in this league, you would not have the amount of points we have.”

Slot added that the second-half display was much more in line with Liverpool’s usual standards, even though the damage had already been done.

Still On Course for Glory

Despite the defeat, Liverpool remain in complete control of the title race. No team in Premier League history has ever thrown away a lead of this magnitude at this stage of the season. In fact, the Reds could be crowned champions as early as 20 April, depending on results elsewhere.

Slot is confident his team will bounce back quickly. **”We played a good game on Wednesday [against Everton] and we will show up against West Ham [on Sunday] as well,”** he said in an interview with *Sky Sports*.

Liverpool’s dominance throughout the campaign has been built on consistency, tactical discipline, and a strong team spirit. While their unbeaten run may have ended, the path to silverware remains clear.

All eyes now turn to their upcoming fixtures as the Reds look to seal a long-anticipated return to the top of English football.
