Former Senator Kabiru Marafa has declared that he will ensure President Bola Tinubu loses at least one million votes in the 2027 general elections.
Marafa, who recently resigned from the All Progressives Congress, said during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today that he has the capacity to mobilize Nigerians against the ruling party.
He said, “I will make Tinubu lose one million votes in 2027. Nigerians are watching, and they know the truth.”
His comments have sparked reactions within the APC, with the Zamfara State chapter dismissing the threat as empty talk. Party leaders described Marafa’s statement as unrealistic, insisting that Tinubu remains popular among Nigerians.
Some of Tinubu’s allies also criticized Marafa, accusing him of seeking cheap publicity after leaving the party.
Despite the backlash, Marafa stood by his claim, arguing that the APC has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians and that its support base is shrinking ahead of the next elections.
