The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has officially released the names of successful candidates in its ongoing recruitment exercise for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC), 46/2025. This announcement marks a significant milestone in the enlistment process and provides clarity for thousands of applicants nationwide who participated in earlier screening stages.

Background of the Recruitment Exercise

The recruitment process began with the Zonal General Aptitude Test conducted on December 5, 2025, across 15 NAF bases nationwide. The exercise attracted over 20,000 applicants, highlighting the strong interest among Nigerians in pursuing a career in the Air Force.

The test was held in multiple centres, including:
  • Sokoto
  • Minna
  • Kaduna
  • Kano
  • Bauchi
  • Maiduguri
  • Yola
  • Makurdi
  • Jos
  • Ilorin
  • Ipetu-Ijesa
  • Enugu
  • Benin City
  • Port Harcourt
  • Ikeja

These locations were strategically selected to promote inclusiveness and equal opportunity for candidates across all regions of the country.

Official Announcement and Key Personnel

The announcement was made in an official statement by Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters.

According to him, candidates who passed the aptitude test have been invited to attend the Selection Board Interview for recruitment into BMTC 46/2025, covering both trades and non-tradesmen and women.

He emphasized that the recruitment process is guided by fairness, integrity, and strict adherence to established standards, noting that merit remains the primary basis for selection.

Publication of Successful Candidates

The names of successful candidates have been published on the official NAF recruitment portal. This digital approach ensures transparency and allows applicants to easily confirm their status and access further instructions.

Candidates are expected to check the portal for:
  • Their selection status
  • Batch schedule
  • Reporting date and requirements

Next Stage: Selection Board Interview

Shortlisted candidates are required to attend the Selection Board Interview, which is the final stage of the recruitment process.

  • Venue: Nigerian Air Force Base Kaduna
  • Dates: April 27 to June 13, 2026

Candidates must report strictly according to their assigned batch schedule as indicated on the recruitment portal. The NAF clearly warned that failure to report on the designated date will result in automatic disqualification.

The Selection Board Interview typically involves:
  • Physical fitness screening
  • Medical examinations
  • Credential verification
  • Oral interviews

This stage is designed to ensure that only candidates who meet the physical, mental, and professional standards of military service are selected.

Emphasis on Merit, Discipline, and Integrity

The Nigerian Air Force reiterated its commitment to a merit-based recruitment system. According to Ejodame, the quality of personnel is critical to the Air Force’s operational effectiveness and its ability to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities.

The aptitude test and subsequent screening stages are therefore structured to identify the most capable and qualified candidates.

Warning Against Fraud and Payments

A key highlight of the announcement is the Air Force’s strong warning against recruitment fraud. The NAF stressed that the entire recruitment process is completely free of charge.

Applicants were advised:
  • Not to make payments at any stage
  • To disregard individuals or groups claiming to influence the process
  • To rely only on official communication channels

This warning is aimed at protecting applicants from exploitation and ensuring the integrity of the recruitment process.

Significance of the Development

The publication of successful candidates represents several important outcomes:
  • Transparency: Open online access reduces misinformation and enhances trust
  • Progression: Candidates advance to the final selection phase
  • Opportunity: Provides employment and career pathways for Nigerian youth
  • National Development: Strengthens the manpower capacity of the Air Force

Conclusion

The release of successful candidates for the BMTC 46/2025 recruitment exercise marks a crucial step in the Nigerian Air Force’s enlistment process. With the Selection Board Interview scheduled to run from late April to mid-June 2026 at Kaduna, shortlisted candidates are expected to prepare thoroughly and comply strictly with all guidelines.

Through its emphasis on merit, transparency, and discipline, the Nigerian Air Force continues to demonstrate its commitment to building a professional and capable force dedicated to safeguarding Nigeria’s national security.
