The nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests in Nigeria are set to continue on Monday, according to rights activist Omoyele Sowore.
The demonstrations, which began last Thursday, are planned to last for 10 days and aim to address widespread hardship and suffering in the country.
Despite violent clashes in some northern states during the first three days of protests, with security forces using tear gas to disperse crowds in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Kaduna, organisers remain committed to their cause.
Sowore has issued directives for protesters in Lagos to march to Ojota before proceeding to Alausa, the Lagos State Secretariat. He announced on social media platform X that the protests will “resume fully tomorrow across Nigeria,” listing several gathering points in Lagos, including Lekki Toll Gate, LASU Gate, and FESTAC Town.
As the demonstrations continue, there have been calls for President Bola Tinubu to address the nation and respond to the protesters’ demands. The situation remains tense as citizens express their frustrations with the current state of governance in Nigeria.
The protests highlight growing discontent among Nigerians and pose a significant challenge to the government’s ability to address economic and social issues. As Monday approaches, all eyes will be on how the authorities respond to the planned demonstrations and whether any progress will be made in addressing the concerns of the protesters.
