NFF Celebrates Rasheedat Ajibade’s Club Achievement and Leadership.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has extended warm congratulations to Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain of the Senior Women’s National Team, Super Falcons, for her outstanding performance and recognition as the Player of the Season at Atlético Madrid de Femenino in the Spanish top division.
Ajibade’s remarkable contributions were highlighted as she not only led her club to a successful season but also secured their qualification for the UEFA Champions League with a crucial goal against Villarreal ladies in the season’s final game. Throughout the season, she showcased her prowess with ten goals and eight assists, solidifying her position as a key player for Atlético Madrid.
Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of the NFF, praised Ajibade for her exemplary qualities of discipline, dedication, diligence, and unwavering commitment to both club and country. He described her as a role model and a star performer, emphasizing her crucial role in leading the Super Falcons with patriotism and ambition.
“Rasheedat has consistently shown what it means to be a true professional in her field. Her discipline, dedication, and leadership qualities have been instrumental in guiding the Super Falcons,” Dr. Sanusi remarked.
The accolade comes at a significant time for Ajibade, who took on the responsibility of team captain after the Super Falcons’ impressive performance at the FIFA World Cup finals last year, where they reached the Round of 16. Under her leadership, the team has also secured qualification for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament for the first time in 16 years.
The NFF expressed confidence that this recognition will serve as motivation for Ajibade to continue leading the Super Falcons to success, particularly as they prepare for the upcoming Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France.
