NFF Concretises Plans For CAF B-License Coaching Course.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalised arrangements to launch a four-month CAF B-License Coaching Course aimed at elevating the skills of Nigerian football coaches and equipping them for both present and future challenges. The programme, open to both male and female coaches, will commence on 7th April 2025 and conclude on 25th August 2025.
Coach Augustine Eguavoen, the NFF Technical Director, speaking to thenff.com, highlighted that this initiative is part of the NFF’s strategic vision to enhance coaching capabilities nationwide. “This course will be delivered in modules to ensure comprehensive learning and application of knowledge,” Eguavoen stated.
Eligibility for the course is stringent. Prospective participants must be actively involved in coaching, hold a valid CAF C-License certificate which they have actively used within the last two years, be proficient in English both in reading and writing, possess basic computer skills along with a laptop, maintain an active Gmail account, and provide a medical certificate confirming their physical and mental fitness to undertake such an intensive training programme.
The course is limited to 25 participants. “Applicants will receive a CAF CMS registration link once they successfully pass the pre-course assessment. They are required to pay a fee of N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) by the 31st of March 2025,” Eguavoen elaborated.
This initiative follows the successful execution of a CAF C-License programme last year, which was exclusively for women coaches – a pioneering effort in Nigeria. That course, which ran from July to September 2024, attracted 30 female coaches, including several former Nigerian international players, showcasing the NFF’s commitment to gender inclusivity in football coaching.
The NFF’s ongoing efforts to professionalise coaching in Nigeria are expected to significantly impact the quality of football in the country, fostering a new generation of well-trained coaches ready to take on the challenges of modern football.
