The Nigeria Customs Service is set to launch a new one stop trade platform aimed at fast tracking clearance of goods and reducing manufacturing bottlenecks.

According to Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the platform will simplify manufacturers’ interactions with customs and other regulatory agencies, drastically reducing bureaucracy and enabling businesses to process documentation, resolve bottlenecks, and clear goods faster.

The platform is designed to boost trade efficiency and competitiveness, making Nigeria’s manufacturing sector more competitive globally. Adeniyi emphasized the importance of manufacturing to the nation’s economy, stating that “manufacturing remains the backbone of any modern economy, and the success of this sector is directly tied to the nation’s prosperity.”

The NCS is working closely with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria to ensure the platform meets the needs of manufacturers. Both parties have agreed to establish formal consultation mechanisms, including regular dialogue on policy developments and feedback systems to assess policy impacts. This collaboration aims to create a more conducive environment for manufacturers to thrive.
