Nationwide League One Secures #964 Million Naira Sponsorship Deal with New Year Mega Lottery

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has struck a landmark sponsorship deal worth a staggering sum of #964 million with New Year Mega Lottery.

Under the terms of the agreement, New Year Mega Lottery will serve as the official Title Sponsor of the third-tier domestic football league in Nigeria for the next four seasons.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at a special ceremony held at the Harris Hotel in Wuye, Abuja, on Thursday, March 14th.

Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and current NLO Chairman, His Excellency Silas Agara, announced the sponsorship during the unveiling of New Year Mega Lottery to the media.

Agara provided a comprehensive breakdown of the deal, revealing that the Nigerian licensed lottery company will contribute an annual payment of N241 million in cash and value in kind, totaling N964 million over the four-year sponsorship period.

Agara emphasized the significance of the sponsorship, highlighting the NLO’s status as the league with the largest football talent base in Africa.

The collaboration between the NLO and New Year Mega Lottery aims to promote and elevate grassroots football in Nigeria, positioning it as a premier spectacle and one of the most attractive leagues on the continent.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Obiorah Emmanuella, Head of Corporate Communications at New Year Mega Lottery, expressed the company’s passion for football and commitment to humanitarian causes as driving factors behind the sponsorship.

Emmanuella emphasized the importance of nurturing grassroots talent and called on other well-meaning Nigerians to support the development of sports in the country.

By sponsoring the NLO until 2027, New Year Mega Lottery continues its tradition of contributing to job creation, empowerment, and education through sports in Nigeria.
