Enyimba FC will face off with Katsina United in an away clash later today: 4pm Nigerian time and they will be hoping to avoid defeat in other to push their ambition of playing continental football next season.

Enyimba who currently sit 5th on the log with 29 points from 16 games will have another opportunity to move into 3rd position on the table as they face off with Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

The Home side Katsina United poses a huge threat and may dent the hope of the Elephants, however with Enyimba’s 2 games in hand, having played 16 matches, 2 fewer than the current top four teams, the impact may be minimal.

As things stands, Lobi Stars of Makurdi are top of the table on 33 points from 18 games, followed closely by Remo Stars in 2nd position with 32 points from 18 games likewise.

The 3rd Position is currently occupied by Plateau United with 31 points while the 4th is rounded up by Doma United who likewise amass 31 points from 18 games.

A win for Katsina will see them move a step up on the log as they currently occupy the 10 position with 23 points from 17 games.

Katsina’s home form is highly commendable as they are yet to suffer defeat at home since 2022. Winning as many games as possible in that time with only 2 draws since then.

Regardless, Enyimba will be attempting to repeat the feet they achieved back in 2018 when they defeated Katsina United in their home ground at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

This Match will no doubt be a tough one for both teams, but the home side do have an advantage based on their record and history while playing at home in recent seasons.
