Show promoter Paul Okoye, aka Paul O, has come to Davido’s defense after the singer faced backlash for advising people in the diaspora not to relocate to Nigeria due to the country’s economic challenges.
Davido, born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Nigeria, expressed skepticism about the trend of black Americans returning to Africa, citing Nigeria’s struggling economy.
Davido said, “It’s not cool back home… The economy now is in shambles.”
Paul O responded, “Please make una leave Davido. Mad people. Davido spoke the truth. Nigeria’s current economic state is sooo bad and with global companies leaving and local businesses facing significant losses, it’s clear we’re facing challenges. Let’s acknowledge the reality and work towards a better future. God bless Nigeria.”
