President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the restructuring of the executive management teams at two key parastatals within the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

The affected entities, namely the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), are set to undergo significant changes aimed at enhancing their effectiveness in addressing the housing needs of Nigerians across the country.

In an announcement made by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday, the reconstitution of these executive teams is portrayed as part of a comprehensive strategy to revitalise the national housing and urban development sectors, aligning them with the evolving requirements of Nigerian families.

The appointments for the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) include Mr. Shehu Usman Osidi as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, alongside Mr. Ibidapo Odojukan as Executive Director (Finance & Corporate Services), Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdu as Executive Director (Loans & Mortgage Services), and Ms. Chinenye Anosike as Executive Director (Business Development & Portfolios).

Similarly, for the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Honourable Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo assumes the role of Managing Director/CEO, accompanied by Mr. Mathias Terwase Byuan as Executive Director (Housing Finance & Accounts), Mr. Umar Dankane Abdullahi as Executive Director (Business Development), Mr. Oluremi Omowaiye as Executive Director (Project Implementation), and Mr. Ezekiel Nya-Etok as Executive Director (Estate Services).

President Tinubu’s strategic vision, including the establishment of Building Materials Hubs across all six geopolitical zones, the creation of a National Social Housing Fund for low-income and vulnerable groups, and land reforms aimed at facilitating access to land nationwide, underscores the high expectations placed on the newly appointed executives.

It is anticipated that they will swiftly embark on initiatives to deliver affordable housing solutions to millions of Nigerians in need, thereby generating numerous job opportunities for the country’s youth population.
