President Bola Tinubu has extended warm greetings to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide and Senior Pastor of Faith Tabernacle, on his 71st birthday.

Tinubu described Oyedepo as “a towering figure of influence and impact” in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond through his spiritual, educational, and philanthropic work.

The President praised Oyedepo’s unwavering focus, discipline, and diligence, noting that these virtues have fueled the global expansion of Living Faith Church Worldwide since 1982. Tinubu highlighted Oyedepo’s contributions to infrastructure, healthcare, and education, which have transformed many cities, states, and nations.

“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings,” Tinubu said. “Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy.” Oyedepo’s establishment of Covenant University and Landmark University continues to raise the standard of education, competing favorably with other global institutions.

Tinubu acknowledged the transformative role of Oyedepo’s educational institutions, from primary to tertiary levels, built around holistic human development. “Your contributions to nation-building through preaching and teaching of faith, discipline, and service remain deeply appreciated by our government,” he added.

The President prayed for Oyedepo’s continued good health, long life, and divine wisdom to uplift more lives, families, and nations through the Word of Faith. Tinubu joined Oyedepo’s family, congregants, staff of David Oyedepo Ministries International, and the entire Body of Christ in celebrating the cleric’s life and ministry.

Bishop Oyedepo was born on September 27, 1954, in Osogbo, Osun State, to a mixed-faith family. He was raised by an Anglican grandmother who grounded him in Christian values. Oyedepo has become one of Africa’s most influential Christian leaders, building a global ministry that intertwines faith with tangible social transformation.

As Oyedepo celebrates his 71st birthday, Tinubu’s message underscores the cleric’s enduring impact on Nigeria and beyond. “At a time when our nation continues to draw strength from moral and spiritual leaders, you have remained a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate,” the President said.
